Welcome to the webpages of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Photonics. The Group was established in October 2016 to provide a forum for Parliamentarians to debate and exchange knowledge with UK industry on the current and future impact of the technologies of light -photonics.

Covering lasers, to cameras, and lighting, the APPG on Photonics aims to raise awareness of the critical contribution this technology is increasingly makes to manufacturing productivity, delivering efficient healthcare and keeping the UK digitally connected and secure.

The official purpose of the APPG Photonics is:

“To raise awareness of the photonics industry, recognise the impact it makes on the UK economy and its potential for future economic growth.”
